I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and supervisor (LCMHCS) in the state of North Carolina, with over ten years of experience, and I am pleased to offer my counseling services to you here at Breath of Autumn Counseling PLLC. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling, both from Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association. You can learn more about my credentials online at Psychology Today (search therapists).
I have counseled numerous individuals who struggled with different types of distress. In addition, I’ve counseled victims of severe domestic violence, sexual assault and traumatic incidences, in addition to providing crisis intervention/response services. This experience has provided me with the opportunity to aid individuals in resolving intricate life situations.
My theoretical orientation heavily emphasizes present-focused, mindful, and person-centered approaches, including both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
My therapy style concentrates on the human potential for growth with an emphasis on freedom, meaning, self-determination, choice, and responsibility. I have mental health experience including outpatient therapy (individual and group), crisis intervention services, as well as work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
As the director and owner of Breath of Autumn Counseling PLLC, I am excited to connect with you and provide the most effective treatment services for your needs.
I provide counseling services to ages adolescents 17 and 18, adults, and elders. A standard counseling session is 45 to 55 minutes in length (extended time for sessions can be arranged). Group therapy sessions (when offered) are held for one hour. The scheduling needs and frequency of therapy sessions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
